Elaine is scared of Ed who works in the mail room, so instead of firing him, she promotes him. Kramer is catering a Jewish singles dinner, but can't cook. He tries to get Mr. Costanza to help him, but George's dad had a terrible incident in the war and since then cannot go into a kitchen. Jerry's girlfriend has a mentor who is dating Kenny Bania, until she sees his act.
